In the epicenter of San Sebastián’s most cosmopolitan neighborhood, Anvers is a vacation apartment with spirit, revolting against the same old modern decor to shake things up with luxurious, attention-grabbing design details. Named after the Antwerp Six, Belgian fashion designers who created a fashion revolution inside the classic Paris-centric fashion world, Anvers is sexy and surprising, yet designed to be über comfortable and welcoming.
Industrial design details blend with soft details like plump pillows and curved corners to create a unique, photo-worthy interior unlike any other in San Sebastián. Entering the apartment is an immediate trompe de l’oeil—brushing through amber PVC ribbons, the space goes from yellow to white, and you find yourself in the open kitchen, looking out onto the beautiful living area.

Hardwood floors feel luxe underfoot, and the neoclassical molding collides with modern gold details to create a neutral yet glamorous space. An ornate mantelpiece is the design focus of the living area, along with a gorgeous oval marble table. The soft, modern lighting is perfect during the day and relaxing by night, when you’ll want to recline on the cushy sofa with a bit of hot tea in vintage china.
The master bedroom features two individual beds (which can be combined into a double bed), with an open wardrobe divider that separates individual gold basin sinks mounted on curving custom-designed metal shelves. The en-suite bathroom has a water closet and striking black-tiled shower, lined with hexagonal tiles that echo the streets of San Sebastián.
The apartment also features an auxiliary alcove room, separated from the living area by flap dividers and a hallway. The cozy alcove room contains a 150 cm pull-out sofa that can sleep up to two, perfect for children, friends and family members. A second bathroom is quite spacious, complete with custom-designed glass shower, toilet and luxurious modern fixtures.
Anvers is the perfect oasis in the center of the city, with a lightness to it that gives off sunny and bright vibes, perfect for your San Sebastián getaway.
Anvers’ location is one of the best in San Sebastián. Calle Hernani lays just between the two most beautiful basilicas of San Sebastian, runs from the Town Hall, on the corner of the Boulevard, past the beautiful and emblematic gardens of Alderdi Eder, and into the city’s shopping district. The beach of La Concha is just a block away, and the peaceful Plaza de Gipuzkoa, swimming with swans and flowers, is two blocks in the other direction. Meanwhile, you have all the famous international shops at your feet, lining the Avenida, as well as some of our favorite independent boutiques, such as Loreak Mendian (Hernani Kalea, 27) and Auzmendi (Askatasunaren Hiribidea, 30), right outside. And should you get hungry after all that shopping, head to the old town for a few pintxos, or pop into Narru (San Martin Kalea, 22) for delicious refined takes on traditional dishes.
