Welcome to the most famous, celebrated wine region in the world—Bordeaux. Château Haut-Brisson, a winemaking estate in Saint-Emilion, breathes new life into the hallowed French chambres d’hôtes, converting them into a most glamorous, modern thing. There is nothing quite like awakening to a view of vineyards, watching the mist dissipate as the sun’s rays heat the morning, revealing the village of Saint-Emilion in the distance. In a winemaking region run by tradition, Château Haut-Brisson’s design-forward lodgings are utterly unique.

Within the traditional stone walls of a country house, the interior of Château Haut-Brisson is anything but. The spacious rooms feature bold design details, inspired by the flavor notes of the lauded Château Haut-Brisson Saint-Emilion Grand Cru. A striking amulet by the American glass sculptor Andy Paiko, created especially for our home, epitomizes the modern and stylish aesthetic of the place, creating an unforgettable backdrop for a sojourn in wine country. Unwind after a day of wine tasting by collapsing on a stylish velvet sofa or take a recharging rest on luxuriously soft sheets.

The five guest rooms, each with a private bathroom, are chic French apartment meets Mondrian meets Bordelaise countryside. On the land outside, grapes are grown and pressed into a wine with a predominant minerality and a peppery nose, packed with berries, spices and licorice. Each room represents a single flavor note of the wine, meaning guests can settle into the soothing blue menthol suite, with glossy, futuristic lighting, spend time in the sunny cardamom suite, or feel electric in the pretty-in-pink raspberry room. All the rooms have gorgeous tall windows and molding, giving total castle vibes while feeling playful and chic. The effortless blend of antique pieces against modern color blocks and lush furniture is what makes Château Haut-Brisson the area’s most unique stay.

Historically chambres d’hôtes were informal bed and breakfasts, where guests could even share dinner at the owner’s table. Château Haut-Brisson is an effortlessly modern rendition of the tradition, built with the independent guest in mind. Check in on your time, with the codes we provide, and enjoy our breakfast baskets of fresh fruit and pastries alongside natural orange juice, delivered every morning. Spend your days in the tasting room of the Château, tasting your way through our wines with our experts (as our guest, your tasting is included in the room price, just be sure to let us know in advance), or visit the vat and barrels for a walking tour of the production process. Finish up your day curled up on cool wine country nights in the common living room with its gorgeous, ornate fireplace.

Welcome
to Château Haut Brisson
The Neighbourhood

Château Haut-Brisson sits nestled among fabled wine estates, just south of the village of Saint-Emilion. The 20 hectares of vines undulate, flattening out at the country road leading to the house. The limestone soil of Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse and the gravelly hills of Saint-Sulpice de Faleyrens result in a rich, full-bodied wine. The area requires a car to maneuver, although distances are short, whether one is looking to visit wineries or the storybook-pretty Saint Emilion. Near Château Haut-Brisson, you’ll find our neighbors producing their very own delicious wines, and we encourage you to sign up for a tour or pop in and taste! Take the picturesque amble to Saint Emilion, a medieval cobblestone village that is impossibly charming, and impossibly full of chances to eat and drink to excess. Have a special meal at Logis de la Cadene, a restaurant founded in 1848 that continues to be showered with praise and stars (of the Michelin variety).
